What hatha flow is like here

Hatha yoga is a calm, classical form of practice: poses are taken slowly, together with the breath, with time to feel the body. In hatha flow we blend it with flowing movement, so there is room both to quieten down and for a little more energy.

  • Calm, but not dull

Gentle hatha and moments of more dynamic movement, at a pace that suits you.

  • For every level

You don't need to be flexible or experienced. The teacher shows variations of each pose, and blocks, straps and bolsters wait on your mat.

  • After work, in the city centre

Monday at 19:00 is a good time to close the day. The studio is in Kazimierz, near the Stradom and Wawel tram stops.

What the class is like

Classes last 75 minutes. We practise barefoot, and mats and props are waiting for you. The teacher keeps the atmosphere calm and relaxed, often with music.

  1. 1

    Arriving

We begin by lying down and settling the breath, to come back to the body after a long day.

  2. 2

    Hatha

Calm poses in the rhythm of the breath, with time to feel what is happening in the body.

  3. 3

    Flow

More flowing movement, at times more dynamic. As much as you have energy for today.

  4. 4

    Relaxation

Classes usually end with time to rest, so a warm sweatshirt or socks come in handy.

Hatha yoga questions

Where can I do hatha yoga in the centre of Kraków?

We teach hatha flow at turcio, in our studio in Kazimierz at św. Agnieszki 1/27, in the centre of Kraków, close to Wawel. Classes are on Mondays at 19:00 and last 75 minutes.

How is hatha yoga different from vinyasa?

Hatha is calmer: poses are taken slowly, together with the breath. Vinyasa is a flowing, more dynamic movement in which poses link up with the breath. Hatha flow combines both: it starts calmly and picks up pace at moments. If you prefer more energy on the mat, try vinyasa on Wednesdays at 19:00.

Is hatha yoga suitable for beginners?

Yes. The class is open to all levels and the teacher shows variations of each pose. If you would like to start from scratch, there is also the Foundations course: six 75-minute sessions in a small group.

How do I get to the studio in Kazimierz?

The nearest tram stops are Stradom and Wawel, and there is paid street parking. Enter through the large gate at number 1: intercom 27, across the courtyard, then the stairwell on the right, intercom 27 again and up to the second floor by stairs. There is no lift.

How much does hatha flow cost and how do I book?

A single class is 60 PLN, a 4-class pass is 200 PLN and a 6-class pass is 300 PLN. You book in Fitssey, where you can also see free places.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes are enough, and a sweatshirt or socks come in handy at the end. Mats, blocks, straps, blankets and bolsters are waiting for you, included in the price.
